The Feast. The Pop Up Restaurant

GUERRILLA CULINARY BRIGADE is a hospitality company founded by Alan Philips and partner Jason Apfelbaum specializing in GUERILLA CULINARY, a form of irregular restaurant or gastronomic event. The brigade is a group of foodies including, but not limited to, chefs, restaurateurs, and creative types that use underground culinary tactics along with extraordinary imagination, the element of surprise, and astonishing mobility to construct one-of-a-kind, memorable culinary and social moments.In 2010, Guerrilla Culinary brought “Pop Up Restaurants” to Manhattan by launching The Feast, The Hunger, and The Thirst. Additionally, Guerrilla Culinary recently launched their first permanent restaurant project CO-OP Food & Drink at the Hotel on Rivington.

Alan Philips, founder and principal of Guerrilla Culinary Group, is a hospitality entrepreneur, marketing expert, and writer. Philips attended Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and over the past decade has worked with hospitality industry leaders including but not limited to Morgans Hotel Group, Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa, Gerber Group, Wolfgang Puck (Spago), One Group, Stephen Starr Restaurants, Myriad Restaurant Group, Todd English Restaurants, Chelsea Hotel Atlantic City, Sushi Samba Restaurants, and Grand Hospitality. Philips is also the writer of the blog, Cocktail Hour, and is a regular guest writer for media outlets such as Zagat.

Jason Apfelbaum is chief executive officer and principal in Guerrilla Culinary Brigade. He also serves as president & CEO of Chef & Company, NYC’s premier corporate and fine dining catering/event company. Chef & Company’s clientele includes Google, Audi, BMW, Nike, Reebok, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Joseph Abboud, Hermes, Coach, Reed Krakoff, The Canadian Consulate, Intel, Dreamworks, CBS & NBC. Chef & Company also produces gourmet cuisine @ JFK, LGA & Philadelphia International Airports for JetBlue, Delta, American Airlines & US Airways. At the 2010 BizBash Expo & Events Awards Conference, Chef & Company was nominated as the 2010 Caterer of the Year.
